The Okinawan Karate of Dallas is please to add Modern Arnis to its programs of study.  Guru Bruce Jenkins of Moroland Martial Arts is teaching Arnis.

(The Okinawan terminology for the two sticks is Ni Tanbo.  Some Okinawan Karate Club of Dallas members also learned one kata called  Ni Tanbo form from Kyoshi Douglas Perry of the Shorinkan Karate system)

Arnis - Disarm Against the 1-12 Zone Strikes (one stick)

1. Block, Twist & Pull, hit hand.

2. Snake hand around opponent’s arm, break elbow

3. Under wrist, grab 2 sticks, grab wrist to chamber, should break

4. Block, x grab thumb lock strike

5. Downward block, step forward, grab with rear side of stick (puno) behind wrist, pull sticks, twist back and strike

6. Block, x grab circle around with rear of stick ) puno, strike

7. Block, slam down, monkey grab, push pull strike
